I am a newbie:
With trump threatening to stop flu and covid vaccines it is clear that this administration is planning a genocide of the elderly, of which I am one. If they want to privatize SS and Medicare, this is one way to get rid of many of those who utilize funding for these agencies. It's all about maximizing the profit margin.
We need to start organizing on this matter NOW, not when it takes effect, and our metaphorical "goose is cooked". I'm not sure what we should do, this is all new to me. Clearly contacting our state representatives and congress people is a starting point. Beyond that I don't have a clue.
I've thought about contacting our Governor, and that of Ore. and Calif.
and broach the idea of the Westcoast states working together and approaching the Pharma co.'s to supply us with the needed updated vaccines. We would be a huge market for them and even if we have to pay more for the vacs it's worth it to save lives...mine included.
Governor Newsom of CA is already fighting Trump, and he may be able to approach the other state Governors about this. He has a lot more influence than our local group and I trust him to help us if he can.
